 June market calendar:

1. Ceres Organic and Craft Market

WHEN? Every Wednesday and Saturday, 9am–2pm
WHERE? The corner of Roberts and Stewart Streets, Brunswick East (off Nicholson Street)
WHAT? Locally produced fruit and vegetables, sourdough breads and pastries, plus coffee and muffins to warm you up while you shop. Produce is sourced from small sustainable growers, backyard producers, and CERES’ own market gardens. On Saturdays, get your hands on some traditional Turkish food and homemade lemonade. After more than edible goodies? CERES Craft Market runs alongside the organics, selling locally produced and recycled treasures.

2. Fed Square Book Market

WHEN? Every Saturday, 11am–5pm.
WHERE? The Atrium, Federation Square
WHAT? Chances are you’ve already been for a biblio browse, but if not, the Book Market hosts stalls by a host of Melbourne’s book dealers, authors and illustrators. New and pre-loved books.

3. Chinatown Market

WHEN? Third Friday of the month
WHERE? Heffernan Lane (off Little Bourke between Russell and Swanston Streets)
WHAT? They’re calling it ‘Truly, Madly, Deeply, Scrumptious’ food! Dumplings, satays, noodles, dumplings, cakes, dumplings…

4. Craft Hatch

WHEN? Saturday, 16 June, 11am–4pm (it’s only a quarterly market, so don’t miss your chance!)
WHERE? 1000 £ Bend, 361 Little Lonsdale Street
WHAT? Craft Hatch is Craft Victoria’s quarterly market, showcasing the work of student, emerging, and experimental designers. Get your hands on exciting new hand-made products from individual designers—homewares, jewellery, clothing, accessories, stationary…just take a look at the list of stallholders here, and I promise you’ll be popping this one in the diary with a big red star.

5. Blackbird Market

WHEN? The second Sunday of each month
WHERE? The Perseverance Hotel, 196 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy
WHAT? Handmade contemporary fashion, vintage clothing, live music, DJs, food and drinks. They emphasise quality, condition, and design—more treasure than trash!

6. Hello Sailor Vintage Fair

WHERE? Shot Tower Square at Melbourne Central
WHAT? Just lots of racks of lovely vintage clothes.

7. Slow Food Farmers’ Market

WHAT? Local organic produce—not just your average fruit and veg, but breads, eggs, olive oils, smoked and fresh fish, meat, cheese, preserves, flowers, seedlings…
Worth noting: Bring your own basket or bag, and $2 for entry—your money goes towards maintaining the beautiful Abbotsford Convent.

8. North Melbourne Market

WHEN? Sunday, 24 June, 10am–3pm (one Sunday each month)
WHERE? The Lithuanian Club, Errol Street, North Melbourne
WHAT? Brought to us by Thread Den, a market selling vintage fabrics and clothing, local designer clothing, kids’ things, handmade jewellery, homewares and other unique creations.

WHERE? Yah Yah’s, 99 Smith Street, Fitzroy
